2007 ändrade tre konstnärer (Davide Grassi, Emil Hrvatin and îiga Kariï) sitt namn till Janez Janša, namnet på den dåvarande slovenske premiärministern och The more of us there are.. är deras senaste verk om namnbytet och dess konsekvenser. I föreställningen sammanförs olika åsikter och perspektiv (från mannen på gatan till politiker, teoretiker, och allehanda experter) på identitet och identifikation. Det handlar om namnet som ett gränssnitt mellan det privata och det publika och som personligt varumärke, och om den västerländska synen på hur namnet hänger ihop med en persons identitet (eller skiljer sig från den). För att parafrasera Shakespeare’s Julia: ”Skulle en ros som Janez Janša dofta lika gott?”

In 2007 three artists (Davide Grassi, Emil Hrvatin and îiga Kariï) changed their name to Janez Janša, the name of the former Slovenian Prime Minister and this is their latest work dealing with this action. In this performance they join various opinions and views (from interviewees in the street to politicians, theoreticians and experts in the fields of contemporary art, law and many other social spheres) related to the questions of identity and identification, multitude and multiplication, name as an interface between the private and the public and the personal name as a brand. Narrators – partly live, partly pre-recorded – walk the audience through various stages and aspects of changing one’s name and its consequences (the public as well as the relational and the intimate ones) It’s also a research as to how, in the Western world, the concept of a personal name coincides with the question of a person’s identity (or differs from it). If to paraphrase Shakespeare’s Juliet: “Would a rose by the name of Janez Janša smell as sweet?”
